Although I only hang towels on my rack, I can see where it would leave indents in sweaters & hoods if they are left on the hooks for a long period of time

Surprisingly, my hoodies have not had indents. If you hang a sweater on the hook, it does leave indents, but I hang a hoodie first and then a sweater on top of the hoodie, and I have no indents on the sweater. These hooks hold a LOT, and are very substantial. I love it.

The door I have one on is 1-3/8 inches thick and it fits great. I just measured the part of the hanger that goes over the door and it is 2 inches wide. Yes, this will fit perfectly on a door that is 1-3/4 inches wide. Also, it is very nice looking on our door. I have no problem shutting the door. Hope this helps!

Bought 2 for my daughter, and her doors won't close either. Thickness of piece over top is 1/16 inch thick. Son had same problem, and he used 80 grit sandpaper on top ledge of door. 1 swipe at a time until it fit.

The hooks on a 6 ft door are about 10-11 inches from top. I am 5'2" and have no problem at all
