Dear Reader,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We celebrated outside with 20 family members and close friends. As usual, San Diego did its part by providing us with a sunny afternoon. On Friday, I went boogie boarding in the Pacific, and thought of family members back east. Hope you also had an opportunity to spend time with those you love.

Mark Twain (born Samuel Langhorne Clemens on November 30, 1835) is one of America’s greatest authors and humorists. He was celebrated in his time, and despite being frequently banned, is still read on campuses today. Of “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” Ernest Hemingway said, “…all American writing comes from that. There was nothing before. There has been nothing as good since.”
