Fourth of July weekend is here! With COVID-19 still posing a risk to the community’s health, many events are canceled, but there’s plenty Portland families can do! From virtual experiences to cool local activities and unique local opportunities, there’s plenty to keep your kiddos and loved ones entertained. Read on to find out more!

IMovie Making

Calling all future Actors, Writers, Directors, and Producers! Now is your chance to create your own movie, starring YOU! Join us as we work together to create scenes and put those scenes together on iMovie. Here you will be able to act out scenes and put together those scenes in the order you think fits best to tell your story to an audience! This live, online class is taught in California, and we welcome from kids around the world to join the fun! (Ages 6-12) Category: Creativity, Critical Thinking, Social Connection. Sat. Online Comedy Camp

Campers exercise their sense of play through improv games and learn the foundation of The Second City’s unique brand of comedy. Our teachers will work with these young improvisers to help enhance their ability to communicate with others and develop confidence in their own creativity, all while working as part of an ensemble. Independence Day Party

It’s a red, white and blue-berry Independence Day party and you’re all invited! Join CAMP and Kroger for an hour of creativity and fun. We’ll guide you through DIY tie-dye, participate in an interactive magic show, and dance! Fri. Event Details.

July 4th Oration–The Struggle for Justice Continues

Using the 1852 address by Douglass as a framework, the Oration examines issues of liberty, citizenship, civic engagement and social responsibility from the historical perspective in light of contemporary injustice. Amidst contemporary crises, Frederick Douglass’s address rings out from history, reminding us we must learn from the past to create the future all Americans deserve. Sat. Event Details.

Frog Pond Farm Safari

Frog Pond Farm will be open Saturday and Sunday (July 4th – 5th) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can now pre-purchase entry tickets online. You will drive around the farm visiting over 15 pasture/pens of a variety of animals. This will include llamas, camel, cows, goats, emu, donkeys, horses, pigs and more! Sat. Event Details.

Gresham Farmers’ Market

Outdoor venue. Purchase farm-fresh produce, arts and crafts all produced by local farmers and businesses. All vendors are wearing masks and keeping social distancing. Sat. Event Details.

Molalla Independence Day Parade

We love a parade! And so will your family. The parade will go down Cole to Shirley turn left to park then continue on the route. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic: they have extended the parade route to go through most neighborhoods, so they can safely adhere to social distancing guidelines. Sat. Event Details.
