If you’re bored talking to Alexa, now you’ll have a whole cast of characters to interact with.

Amazon has partnered up with Disney to introduce a new voice assistant to its existing technology, aptly named ‘Hey, Disney!’.

The new digital assistant will be able for use on all home Echo devices, as well as in Walt Disney World Resort hotel rooms. Choose from a range of characters from your favorite movies, including Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and more.

Just like in the theaters, the Disney digital assistant will allow users to experience interactive stories, with different entertainment features involving the much-beloved characters. There are even games and jokes to keep you entertained!

As with the original Alexa, the Disney assistant will also be able to help you take care of basic tasks and reminders. You’ll still be able to set alarms or ask for a traffic update via the Echo.

Drawing fans closer to the world imagined by Walt Disney, it makes daily interactions with beloved characters possible. Users could start their day with greetings from characters, get their weather forecast from Mickey Mouse, “go on adventures” with Olaf or Dory, tune into Disney stories, and even get some jokes from C-3PO and R2-D2.

So, what does the brand voice of Disney sound like? That’s still unclear, but the company promises the voice assistant will have a “brand new, unique identity… different than Alexa’s voice.”

In the Walt Disney World Resort hotel rooms, the Disney digital assistant goes even further. It’ll be programmed to answer guests’ questions, fulfill requests, or even help you ring room service for extra pillows.

Amazon is debuting the special assistant under its ‘Alexa for Hospitality’ initiative, which will allow hotels to customize Echo products to suit their guests.

Hey, Disney! will be available in the Alexa Skills Store early 2022. Head over here to sign up for an email reminder.
