Things are heating up here, y’all. And even though this summer looks different from last, there are some seriously sizzling ways to serve up summertime fun, all weekend long. Keep reading for our favorite ways to play, below.

Hands-On Activities

Check Out Atlanta’s Best Street Art
Get to know your city through the eyes of its street artists! Visit new corners of the ATL—keeping a safe distance from others—and snap a couple Insta-worthy shots of your fam around town. Check out this website for a map of the city’s most notable spots to find. Find details here.

Visit Alice in Wonderland Reimagined at Atlanta Botanical Garden
In addition to the towering White Rabbit, sprawling chess board and heart “trees,” and Cheshire Cat perched nearby in the Garden, look for a 16-foot Red Queen and an all-new 14-foot Alice rotating in the Howell Fountain pool as she plummets down the “rabbit hole.”Find everything you need to know here.

Take a Walk in WildWoods at Fernbank
Fernbank Museum is now open daily 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., 1-3 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. Online tickets are required. Travel around the world and back in time as you discover live animals, amazing places, ancient fossils, prehistoric cultures and new science discoveries inside the museum, and outdoor exhibits, breathtaking walking trails, a canopy walk, native wildlife and nature playgrounds in the 75-acre WildWoods and Fernbank Forest. Create a Garden with Your Kids
Grab a trowel, select seeds, and check out these easy ideas for gardening with kids. We’ve got everything from a vegetable garden to ideas for small gardens and even an indoor herb garden—no green thumb or acres of yard space required.

Visit an Alpaca Farm
Spend some time with beautiful alpacas during a socially-distanced barn tour at Creekwater Farm. On the barn tour, you and your family will be able to get in the pen with alpacas and pet and feed them. Go Fishing
With these local fishing spots, your kids will fall hook, line, and sinker for this easygoing past time that doesn’t break the bank or require tons of planning—but can still allow for responsible social distancing while getting out of the house! For the price of a fishing license (available online) and the time it takes to get there, you’re guaranteed to catch a whopper of a memory.

See Wild Animals from Your Own Car
From the comfort of your own vehicle, you can travel through a 3.5-mile drive experiencing hundreds of animals. Many animals will come right up to your vehicle for a greeting. Come face-to-face with a camel, a watusi, a zebra or hand feed an American bison. You’ll see elk, water buffalo, giraffes and more running free. With 75 species of animals and over 550 of them on 500 acres, families are in for an eye full. Here’s the scoop.

Visit the Museum of Flight
Take a virtual trip to the Museum of Flight in Seattle, where kids can take tours with the curator, explore aircraft and spacecraft in 3D and find lots of STEM activities to keep everyone engaged. Find out more here.

Start your weekend with relaxing and fun Pajama Yoga, best for ages 4 and up. For more info, check this out.

Hip Hop Boys
Ready to get the kids’ energy out? Join a live zoom class or video to move and dance. The instructor starts with a stretch, a HipHop isolation, dancing HipHop routines following the teacher and playing interactive dance games. Music and movement are kid appropriate, grandma approved. Take Tic Toc Spanish 
Go on a passport stamp hunt through spanish-speaking countries. Learn spanish through geography, landscapes, culture, and art. Get in on the action here.
