Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is a 20,000 square foot light and sound spectacular featuring two-story projections of the artist’s most compelling works. Commemorate Juneteenth in Marietta
Commemorate Juneteenth, an annual celebration of the emancipation of the last remaining enslaved African Americans in the U.S. in June 1865. The day will include guided museum tours, living history demonstrations, poetry readings, and more. They will also be unveiling a new garden sculpture dedicated to the many enslaved people who lived in Marietta prior to the end of the Civil War whose names were not recorded and are now lost to time. Wings of Wonder at Atlanta Botanical Garden in Gainesville
For the Gainesville exhibition, artists have created three sculptures, including a pair of cardinals, “Love Long Last” for the Gainesville exhibition, Wings of Wonder: Towering Works of Nature, that are seen as harbingers of good health, renewal and loving relationships. Each bird is 15 feet tall and, although monumental in scale, these ephemeral works are temporary in nature – they are made from natural materials such as bamboo, tree saplings and found objects, meant to last only several years before fading away.
